RECRUITMENT - 14 PhD POSITIONS AVAILABLE

The Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) Doctoral Network DETECTIVE (Data driven Excellence in Training of Epidemiological, Clinical, Technological and Innovative Virus Experts) will open applications for 14 fully funded PhD positions distributed across participating institutions in Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Each doctoral candidate will be recruited by an individual beneficiary and contribute to a dedicated research project while participating in the joint training programme of the DETECTIVE Doctoral Network. 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Meet the requirements for admission to doctoral studies at the host institution and be eligible to obtain doctoral study rights before recruitment. Applicants must hold, by the recruitment deadline, a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification that provides access to doctoral-level studies in the country where it was awarded.

  2. Not hold a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment.

  3. Comply with the MSCA mobility rule, meaning they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (such as work or study) in the recruiting country for more than 12 months during the 36 months immediately preceding recruitment.

  4. Demonstrate proficiency in English.

  • Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages, including publications if applicable)
  • Motivation letter (maximum 1 page: Describe your motivation for pursuing doctoral studies within the DETECTIVE Doctoral Network, your research interests, relevant experience, career objectives, and suitability for the selected position(s)).
  • Master’s degree certificate (if available) and transcript of records
  • Any additional documents required by the host institution (please consult the individual position description for details)

Salary and trial period

Doctoral candidates will be employed full-time for three years in accordance with the rules of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks programme.

The financial package includes a living allowance of €4,010 per month (subject to the MSCA country correction coefficient applicable in the host country), a mobility allowance of €710 per month, and, where applicable, a family allowance of €660 per month. The actual gross and net salary will depend on the applicable country correction coefficient, national taxation, statutory social security contributions, and the employment policies of the host institution. The exact salary will be confirmed upon appointment.

All positions are subject to the employment conditions and regulations of the respective recruiting beneficiary and may include a probationary period in accordance with national legislation and institutional policies.

Please note: Most positions are funded for 36 months through the DETECTIVE Doctoral Network. Selected positions may offer an extended doctoral employment period funded by the host institution. Details are provided in the individual position descriptions.
